An application is useless if cannot be debugged

A manager of the Core team said reporting the problems with building libraries for macosx at the staff meeting that the compiler creates a debug section with wrong data format, and any application linked with the libraries cannot work under debugger, meaning that the application is “absolutely useless because cannot be debugged”. That was not about the low quality of software that could need debugging. This is a developer view worked out with years. Looks like we run even MS Word under debugger. Do we learn the life from the debugger?
